Library Facilities
The LCPS library is housed within the college campus and offers a stimulating environment for study, with convenient access to printed and electronic resources, photocopiers and other technical aids for learning and research. All students and staff have access to the library.
The library contains books about management, computer science, English language, computer science, IT as well as journals.
The library is the major information resource for students housing approximately 1300 books. College students are employed as librarians.
Computing Facilities
The LCPS network of computers give authorised access to the Internet.
Software provision ranges from standard office applications, such as Word-Processing (Microsoft Word), Spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel), Databases (Microsoft Access) and Presentations (Microsoft Power Point), through specialist programmes such as Visual C++, Visual Basic and Heavy Databases such as Oracle.
Accommodation Facilities
LCPS understands that a comfortable and affordable place to live is essential for its students. LCPS runs a joint accommodation service with Mac & Mayo Property Services Ltd. 501 Katherine Road, Forest Gate, London E6 1HB. Fully-furnished and centrally heated accommodation is available.
Charges for single student-friendly accommodation during 2007 / 2008 are expected to be between £70.00 per week (£3,640 per annum) and £80.00 per week (£4,160 per annum). This normally includes heating, electricity and water. Students who study more than 21 hours per week are exempt from Council Tax.
Shared student-friendly accommodation during 2007/2008 is expected to be around £65.00 per week (£3,380) including heating, electricity and water. Students who study more than 21 hours per week are exempt from Council Tax.
Other student accommodation venues are accessible and some students club together to rent private accommodation.
Living Expenses
The college is advising single overseas students that they will need at least £6,000 to cover their living costs for a period of 12 months. This figure is an estimate and is designed to cover the total cost of accommodation, food, entertainment, clothes, books and a limited amount of travel within the UK . The figure will be higher for subsequent years. Costs will also increase if students are accompanied by family members. |
